What is GoodWord?
GoodWord lets you collect verified references from people you have worked with and share them as one report, as a link and as a PDF, with every job application.
How many references do I need?
Three references unlock your report. You can include up to 5. A report is valid for 12 months.
Who should I invite?
People you have worked with who saw your work up close: managers, peers, people who reported to you and clients.
Will my current employer find out?
Only if you invite someone who works there. You choose every referee and nobody else is contacted. Former managers, old colleagues and clients all count.
Can I edit what my referees wrote?
No. You read every word and you know who wrote what. You cannot change any of it. That is why a recruiter can rely on it.
How do I share my report?
As a private link, as a PDF with a QR code, as a card for LinkedIn or with Resume Pro Max, which joins your resume and your report into one file. Send it also drafts the message for you.
Can I see who viewed my report?
Yes. You see the name and company of each person who opened it. You never see their email address.
Is my resume stored when I use Resume Pro Max?
No. The file is held in memory for the one request and then discarded.
For referees
What will I be asked as a referee?
What the person does better than most, where they could grow and whether you would work with them again. It takes about 5 minutes, in your own words.
How long does my invite link work?
For 30 days.
Will the person see what I wrote?
Yes. They can read every word and they know who wrote what. They cannot edit any of it.
Can I withdraw my reference?
Yes. A link to withdraw is shown on the page after you submit and in your confirmation email. It takes one click and a confirm.
For recruiters
Is a GoodWord report a background check?
No. GoodWord checks that each reference came from the email address the candidate gave and looks for signs of misuse. It does not verify identity documents or employment records.
How do I know a report is real?
The PDF carries a QR code and a link to the live report. The live report is the proof.
Why does it ask for my work email?
To open a shared report you confirm a work email with a one-time code. The candidate then sees your name and company in their list of viewers. They never see your email address.
Will I see who the referees are?
You see each referee by role, for example Direct Manager. A name appears only where that referee chose to be named.
What is Response Integrity?
A level in words: Basic, Moderate, Good or Strong. It reflects how confident we are that the references are real and independent. It never reflects how positive they are.
Your data
Does GoodWord use AI?
Yes, in one place. The short summary in a report is written with the help of AI, from the referees’ own words. Nobody can edit what referees wrote.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can export or delete all your data at any time, under India’s DPDP Act.
